It's Spring, lets shoot some portraits!

Winter is over, we made it...

There's no better feeling than the first few warm days of Spring, and by "warm" I really mean "Boston warm" - so around 50 degrees or so. I took advantage of these above-freezing days by shooting some long-awaited portraits of two friends of mine.

We planned to shoot at North Point Park over in Cambridge, MA. This is one of my most favorite parks which has the greatest view of the Zakim bridge you can get - just beware of all the condo construction.

Now I'm not primarily a portrait photographer, but really wanted to try something a little bit out of my comfort level - while testing out some new gear in preparation for this (fast approaching) wedding season. It's a little different to be working with just a sole person instead of my usual bride & groom, but this was a fresh shift. These two were fantastic models & great sports - especially Sabrina as we had to battle strong winds nearly the entire time. I was initially planning to focus heavily on off camera light - which swiftly came to an end as the moment I set up my brand new soft-box, a gust of wind knocked it over and completely broke the light stand attachment, time for plan B...natural light.

This was a great warmup that will propel me into the beautiful weddings I have lined up for this year & I cannot stress the "beautiful" enough so be sure to check back here soon!
